Meetings are held the at 6pm on the third Wednesday of every month at the LAI office.

These positions will be open for elections in June. Chairperson, Vice- Chair, Treasurer, Trustee-
Duties and responsibilities taken fron the LAI steering committee standing rules
B. The Chairperson shall:
Preside at as many intergroup meetings as possible, and assure that the secretary or co-chair is made aware of any foreseen absence.
Prepare, with the Steering Committee Secretary and/or Co-Chairperson, an agenda of topics to be covered before each monthly meeting.
Assist the committee in making a hospitable environment for anyone who can contribute constructively to discussion of the topics, making personal invitations were necessary.
Ensure that discussions follow Robert’s Rule of Order as possible, and that individuals restrict discussion to the topic at hand, and only one person shall speak at a time.
Table new business, when adequate preparation has not been made, and note that it will be discussed in future meetings.
C. The Chairperson as the Chief Intergroup Officer shall:
Maintain contact with the AA Area 53 District Committee Members as needed.
Serve as a liaison for other neighboring inter groups and members.
Assist the committee members to help them fulfill their roles.
Be available for direct contact by the LAI Office Manager and AA group members.
Sign the Bank Resolution for accounts noting he or she is Chairperson.
D. The Co-Chairperson at LAI Steering Committee Meetings shall:
Attend as many intergroup meetings as possible, and assure that the chair or secretary is made aware of any foreseen absences.
Perform the duties of the Chair in the event of his or her absence at the Intergroup meetings.
Sign the Bank Resolution for accounts noting he or she is Co-Chairperson
E. The Co-Chairperson as Assistant Chief Operating Officer Shall:
Perform the duties of the Chair in the event of his or her prolonged absence and/or during the vacancy of the Chair’s seat.
Serve as a coordinator for the respective committees serving the intergroup, see “LAI Standing Committees”.
F. Treasurer at LAI Steering Committee Meetings shall:
Attend as many intergroup meetings as possible, and assure that the chair or secretary is made aware of any foreseen absences.
Present a monthly report to the committee that demonstrates the current status of the treasury, the Receipts and expenditures for the prior month, and if necessary, forecasts the expenditures for the future month ( how these expenditures may materially affect the cash flow of the intergroup.)
Collaborate with the respective intergroup officers and committee chairs to assure that an adequate flow of funds is made available to meet expenses.
Sign the Bank Resolution for accounts noting he or she is Treasurer and sign all necessary documentation at the bank to be one of the two co-signers on the bank accounts.
G. Treasurer as Financial Officer and Guardian of Intergroup Funds shall:
Coordinate with the office management to prepare procedures and records that demonstrate the control of, and exhibit, the flow of funds.
Assist the Trustees and/or Audit Committee in conducting and preparing a report of the Annual Audit.
Assist the Membership Committee, ( when called upon), to assist other committee members and/or AA groups on any matters in the area of finance ( where assistance in the form of advice is required).
Assume custody for the intergroup of all incoming funds from any source and of any nature.
Carry out actions needed to conform to the BY-LAWS Article IV- Section E.
I. Trustee(s) at LAI Steering Committee Meetings shall:
Familiarize themselves in detail with the Twelve Traditions of AA and see that they are protected as actions are taken at Steering Committee meetings.
Submit the findings of the Audit Committee (regarding bank accounts and financial records) to the Steering Committee on an annual basis.
J. Trustees as guardians of the trust of both Intergroup listed AA groups and their members, and AA as a whole shall:
Have protective custody of all tangible property of the Intergroup that is not otherwise provided for in the BY-LAWS.
See that the funds of the Intergroup are handled in accordance with the BY-LAWS on an interim basis between audits.
Familiarize themselves in detail with the Twelve Traditions of AA and see that they are protected in all actions taken by the Intergroup.
Personnel audit the performance of the Intergroup with regard to the Twelve Traditions of AA and are available to the Membership Committee, as well as the intergroup members, to offer advice.
ARTICLE V of the LAI By-Laws
OFFICERS
A. The Officers of the Steering Committee shall consist of:
Chairperson
Vice Chair
Secretary
Treasurer
Office Manager
Assistant Office Manager
Trustee ( Elected in Odd Years)
Trustee ( Elected in Even Years)
B. Sobriety requirement to hold office:
Chairperson 3 years
Vice Chair 3 years
Office Manager 3 years
Assistant Office Manager 2 years
Secretary 1 year
Treasurer 3 years
Trustees 7 years
Officers must also be practicing sponsorship principles, have a home group, and attend area AA meetings.
C. Officers shall be voted on for two year staggered terms. Terms begin July 1 and end June 30th (State fiscal year)
