DISTRICT 13 &14 IS HOLDING A GENERAL SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE MEETING NOVEMBER 23, 2025 AT 630 PM AT THE LAI OFFICE
What is a General Service Representative?
What is the District?
What is the Area?
What do they do?
The General Service Representative(GSR), District 13/14, and Area 53 collectively form the foundation of the General Service structure. Their combined purpose is to:
1. Gather Group Conscience- These entities act as communication channels and decision-making bodies, helping to shape and share the collective conscience of the A.A. groups, which hold the ultimate responsibility and authority.
2. Elect Representation- They select trusted servants, GSRs are elected by the home groups, GSRs then elect DCMs, and Areas elect Delegates. Who serve as the active voice and conscience of the Fellowship in global affairs.
3. Carry the Message - They come together to organize and support Twelfth Step work, especially in areas like Public Information (PI), Corrections, and Treatment Facilities—services that are quite big for individual groups to handle on their own. Basically, they work as a team to connect each A.A. group, which is the base of the upside-down triangle, to the larger structure of the General Service Conference.
