BY LAWS AND STANDING RULES REVISIONS

According to the LAI bylaws that govern the operation of the LAI office, a committee should meet every third year to review, and if necessary, revise the BY-LAWS. The last revision to the bylaws was May 2017.  The standing rules were reviewed and changes made to individual items last year.

The intent of changes to the bylaws is consistent with current practices or traditions of operation. Grammar and syntax may be changed to reflect present tense of the document.

When reading the document original language and lettering will be left alone.  Suggested changes will be highlighted by a strike through of the original text. Followed by bold lettering of new content. Reading the document will require the reader to follow the original text until a bold statement is supplied as a revision.

These BYLAWS may be amended by a two thirds (2/3) vote of the Steering Committee , provided a copy of the proposed amendment is submitted in writing to each Steering Committee member and Advisory Board member. Additionally AA membership input is considered as a matter of policy. In order to satisfy this requirement the proposed amendment(s) will be posted at the LAI office and on LAI website at least thirty (30) days prior to the voting.

Comments, questions, or agreements to the amended bylaws can be supplied to individual items or the bylaws as a whole.  For an understanding of how the committee arrived at these changes please attend the next LAI meeting for a detailed discussion or request further information from the chairperson of the bylaws committee. This can be requested in person or by writing to the LAI office.
